Passed with top marks
At the end of August, the best CITT graduates from all German sites gathered in Korbach to be duly celebrated for their achievements. At the same time, the advisory board meeting of the CITT took place, which was also attended by Ariane Reinhart, member of the Executive Board.
In October 2019, the Continental Institute for Technology and Transformation launched the first qualifications for production employees, which are modular and IHK-certified, leading to a full vocational qualification. In the meantime, almost 200 colleagues have successfully celebrated their vocational qualification. So it was time to honor the best of the Germany-wide graduates in a fitting manner.
The event started for the 19 participants already one day before with an excursion of a special kind. After a guided tour through the old town of Korbach, everyone went to a barbecue course with beer tasting at the restaurant Fachwerk 1670, where the graduates were able to get to know each other better and exchange experiences. The next day, they went to the Korbach plant. After a short presentation about the location, the production tour through our bicycle, motorcycle and passenger car tire production started.
At the same time, the members of the CITT Advisory Board, consisting of Francesco Grioli (Chairman of IGBCE), Christiane Benner (IG Metall), Maike Bielfeldt (IHK Hannover/Niedersachsen), Prof. Dr. Friedrich Esser (BIBB), Dr. Martin Kuhlmann (SOFI Göttingen), Johannes Pfeiffer (Regional Head Office Lower Saxony-Bremen) and Dr. Ariane Reinhart (Member of the Executive Board of Continental AG), as well as Marcel Verweinen (Head of HR Germany Continental AG) and Sebastian Borchers (Head of TMOD Germany and Head of CITT). They were also given a tour of the plant - passenger car tire production and ContiTech. They also made a detour to our CITT workshop to get an impression of the environment and the technical and digital equipment in which our CITT participants are trained. They were welcomed by CITT trainer Stefan Luft.
Afterwards, the graduates and the advisory board went to the atrium of the HPTC for the official award ceremony.
After handing over the certificates and presents, everyone came together for a casual get-together with lunch to exchange ideas. We congratulate all graduates for their achievements during their training period!
In the afternoon, after the award ceremony, the advisory board meeting of the CITT advisory board took place in a closed circle in the Villa Hammerschmidt. Since the start of CITT Korbach, the Villa Hammerschmidt has housed training rooms for the teaching units.
