Plastics and rubber technologist

Our partial qualifications follow a very practical approach, so that our modules each consist of at least 1/3 practical sessions in the CITT workshops and 2/3 virtual theory lessons via iPad (provided by CITT) or if possible in the training room at a CITT location.

Contents

Achieve the IHK vocational qualification in 5 modules:

Basic training in the manufacture of simple assemblies and polymer materials (6 months)
Producing simple assemblies, applications with plant-related control technology (4 months).
Establishing manufacturing prerequisites, maintenance and servicing of equipment (4 months)
Applying process technology for the production of molded parts, semi-finished products or multi-ply rubber parts (5 months)
Planning, monitoring and optimizing product and process quality (5 months)

Target audience

Production workers who have no vocational qualifications or who have not worked in their professional area for at least 4 years and have been away from learning for some time.

Entry requirements

You are at least 25 years old.
You do not have a professional qualification or have not worked in your profession for at least 4 years.
You have basic German and math skills.

Duration

24 months full-time (37.5 hrs/week) divided into 5 modules (4–6 months each).

Process

The partial qualification as a Plastics and rubber technologist divides the contents of the training course into 5 individual modules.
Shortening the training period by 1/3 gives you the chance to obtain your vocational qualification within 24 months and receive an IHK certificate after each completed module.
During the full-time training period (Mon-Fri; 37.5 hrs/ week), you will remain in your existing contract of employment and continue to receive your collective agreement wage.
