In the age of industrial digitalization, 3D printing or additive manufacturing is making a significant contribution to the implementation of innovative projects in production. As a future-relevant manufacturing process, it will influence all value creation processes. The skills required for this are taught in this training and pave the way for participants to enter the growing job market in this segment.

The IHK certificate course for specialists in additive production technologies consists of 3 modules:
Module 1: Fundamentals of materials technology (40 teaching units)
- Plastics
- Metals
Module 2: CAD design basics (80 teaching units)
- Introduction to 3D software (CAD)
- Project management in CAD
- Component design according to drawing specifications
- Production of drawings
Module 3: IHK certificate course for specialists in 3D printing (80 teaching units)
- Additive manufacturing and 3D printing basics
- 3D data
- Design for 3D printing
- Postprocessing
- Creating 3D projects
- Material-specific running-in
- Excursion
Target audience
- Skilled workers, master craftsmen, technicians, engineers and designers
- Specialists who have completed vocational training or college or who have several years of relevant professional experience

- You are a Continental staff member
Duration
200 teaching units (20 days), including 30 teaching units of on-site practice in our TechSpaces with 3D printers.
Process
- Block teaching (10 teaching units/7.5 hours per day) divided into 3 modules (40 teaching units, 81 teaching units, 81 teaching units)
- Divided into practical and theoretical phases
Pricing
- Total course: EUR 2,480.56 course costs (for 20 days)
- Module I: EUR 394.40 course costs
- Module II: EUR 693.36 course costs
- Module III: EUR 1,197.18 course costs
This qualification is according to §82 SGB III Qualification Opportunities Act eligible for funding through the Federal Employment Agency.
Funding via education voucher:
- Training course cost subsidy up to 30%
- Wage subsidy up to 40%
- Funding levels are coordinated individually with the Federal Employment Agency
Requirements for funding:
- Highest educational qualification at least 4 years ago
- No use of subsidized qualification via the Federal Employment Agency in the last 4 years
Diploma
After you have successfully passed the test, you will receive a CITT certificate with the designation “Specialist in additive manufacturing” as well as an IHK certificate with the designation “Specialist in 3D printing technologies.”
