Our Training Courses for Semi-skilled Employees

CITT offered the first qualification programs for semi-skilled employees at Continental in 2019. Since then, the range of training has been continuously expanded, always with the aim of developing bespoke training and advanced programs that prepare you today for the work of tomorrow.

We at CITT aim to prepare you for the future in the best possible way and qualify you accordingly. That is why we have developed qualification programs especially for production staff over 25 years of age who do not have a vocational qualification or who completed an apprenticeship in an unrelated area.

We are offering you the opportunity to acquire skills and knowledge that will give you the best possible preparation for the jobs of the future.

We offer a wide variety of programs that range up to the completion of a full IHK-accredited vocational qualification:

What are Basic Skills?

The basic skills module prepares you for a qualification-oriented program (partial qualification or intensive course) and involves a full-time training period of 3 months. The goal is to reintroduce employees to learning and to avoid negative learning experiences.

What is a Partial Qualification?

A partial qualification divides the contents of a training profession into individual modules. The aim is to enable mature participants to obtain a vocational qualification by completing several modules. This measure is thus aimed at staff who do not have a vocational qualification or who have been working outside their original area of training for at least 4 years. Participants must be at least 25 years of age to be eligible for partial qualification.

Advantages: By shortening the training period by 1/3, you can obtain your vocational qualification more quickly and will receive an IHK certificate after each successfully completed module.

What is an Intensive Course?

Our intensive courses offer short and compact training in the theory of the relevant profession in preparation for the external IHK examination. Only staff with the appropriate years of job experience and certification from their local subsidiary are eligible to attend such a course.
Prerequisites for participation in an intensive course are at least 3 years of professional experience and – after consultation with the location – registration for the external IHK examination.

What is an IHK Certificate Course?

An IHK certificate is a document issued by a Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) after a certificate test has been passed. An IHK certificate shows that you have received professional and practical training in the certified subject area. An IHK certificate course covers current topics and is highly practical. IHK certification is highly regarded by employers as a form of proof of continuing professional development – both in Germany and increasingly internationally.

IHK certificate courses are nationally standardized further training measures that qualify participants in specific subject areas. These courses are aimed at people with an in-depth technical understanding and many years of professional experience. A professional qualification is desirable, but not a key prerequisite for attending an IHK certificate course. How you benefit: After each successfully completed module you will receive an IHK certificate.

What is a Qualification Guide?

Continental aims to develop a stronger culture of training through the “Raum und Zeit für Lernen” (Room and Time for Learning) corporate works council agreement. To this end, the new role of Qualification Guides (alongside existing work activities) has been defined and is now being established at all sites in Germany.

As a Qualification Guide, you will be part of our culture of continuous learning and development.

What is the “Digital Competencies” eLearning program?

Agile methods and digital skills encourage strength in innovation and the necessary mindset for technological change. It is therefore all the more important that all staff should have the opportunity to move in step with this change and actively help shape it. With the “Digital Competencies” eLearning programs from CITT, we are actively addressing the digital transformation in the world of work and showing what the digital transformation means for work at Continental and what an Organization 4.0 can be like.
